Fancy Nancy Party

Ooh La La being Four is absolutely fabulous darling!!!!
Today we celebrated Isabel's fourth birthday with a Fancy Nancy soiree. It included lots of pink and purple decorations and balloons, a face painter, lots of accessories, and of course, 12 little girls dressed in their fanciest ensembles (that is a fancy word for clothes).

The party started with each girl making their own fancy hat. At the same time we had a face painter who did a wonderul job painting butterflies and flowers. After reading a Fancy Nancy book, the girls got all fancy at the Posh boutique with tiarras. boas, sunglasses and all kinds of jewelery. Then it was time for refreshments. Here are a few pictures...

The tea table, only the fanciest china would do!
The cake table

The cake, each little girl also made her own parfait (that's a fancy word for ice cream sunday)

I just couldn't resist these adorable crown and shoe cookie cutters

Probably my favorite decoration at the party, the cupcake liner pom poms.

Had to make sure Fancy Nancy was there too!!

Vegan cupcakes

(My helper giving them a try)
I am so grateful that we do not have food allergies in our household, I can not imagine living without peanuts, eggs, dairy...
This said, we do have friends who live with food allergies. With Iz's birthday coming up, I want to make sure that every child gets to eat some cake or at least a cupcake, and since she has a little friend who is allergic to eggs, I decided to try some egg-less cupcakes. They are actually really tasty! And so simple to make.
Vegan cupcake Recipe
1 T Apple cider vinegar
1 1/2 cups Almond Milk
2 cups all-purpose Flour
1 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons Baking powder
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup Coconut oil (I didn't have this so just used Canola oil)
1 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Measure vinegar into a 2 cup measuring cup. Fill with milk to make 1 1/2 cups. Let stand until curdled. In a large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients. Whisk together milk mixture, oil and vanilla. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just blended. Spoon into lined muffin pans. Bake 15-20 minutes.
They didn't rise quite as much as I am used to, but as I said really tasty. Now I just need to figure out a good frosting...this batch I just covered with a simple chocolate ganache, and the girls are enjoying them.

Seven months already!!

Our happy little boy is seven months old already! He is so detemined and so much want to be a big boy, trying and almost sitting all by himself without support and he somehow manages to move all over the place when he is on his belly. He also loves to stand when you hold him up...slow down little boy, Mama is not ready to not have a baby in the house any more!!!!

He has this really strange tongue thing going on...

Ooh-la-la...

Iz's b'day is coming up soon, with her party only 4 weeks away! So, I am in full party planning mode, maybe a little obsessive, but I LOVE IT!!! I really pushed for a Tea party this year, Iz wanted Fancy Nancy, which works out great, a Fancy Nancy tea party, except she wanted it exactly like her sister's!!! Fortunately since Iz's party is in Feb and we have to have it inside I can sneak in some different things!! (The more parties I do the more overboard they get I think!!!)
So I have been doing research, getting some great ideas, and of course shopping, finding some great supplies!!! And I discovered my new fave store, Homegoods!! I can't believe I have never gone in there before!!!!
Some of my finds...
I just love this cupcake stand...
Flowers for the hat craft, when Iz saw these she exclaimed "Mommy, they are just gorgous!" what a Fancy Iz we have!!!

So keep an eye out for more on this fancy Soiree, as Nancy would say...

Here it is...

So the other day it hit me, all I have ever wanted to do since a very young age was get married and have babies (yep, sad to some I am sure, that has been my aspirations in life!!) and here I am happily married for 7 1/2 years, and mom to three, God willing never to walk down the isle or be pregnant again...And then I thought, so what now? As I thought of this blog I realized that now I get to enjoy the things that make me the happiest, my hubby and kiddos.
So indulge me, as I reveal why I love being a wife and mom. Trivial to some, but for me it is my life.
